Design in Democracy: Voters in Chinatown/
‘Democracy in Chinatown’ is a project from Transformation Design class directed by Prof. David Frisco in Pratt Institute, MFA Communications Design. In order to respond to the ‘Stand Up For Democary’ proposal by Ezio Manzini and Victor Margolin, the class shared the focus on social issues, more specifically, on the Democratic access to the electoral process, ie. voting rights.
The research finally lead the team to focus on Asian immigrant voters in the Chinatown. Based on field study and interviews, the team created an informational kit for new immigrants and a related vote-encouraging event.
